Nominations for the 2020 Emmy Awards Have Been Announced

Netflix broke records for the most nominations in a single year.

The nominations for the 72nd annual Emmy Awards, set to take place virtually in light of the coronavirus pandemic, have been announced. Breaking the record for the most nominations in a single year, Netflix scored 160 recognitions thanks to a range of hit series including Stranger ThingsOzark and Dead to Me.

HBO‘s Watchmen garnered 26 nominations, the most out of any series this year. Amazon‘s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel followed with 20, while Ozark and HBO’s Succession both scored 18. Actors recognized for Best Actress in a Drama Series include Zendaya (Euphoria), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) and Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show). Nominees for Best Actress in a Comedy Series include Issa Rae (Insecure), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), while shows up for Best Competition Series include Rupaul’s Drag RaceNailed It and The Voice.

Final-round of voting runs from August 21 to 31. The ceremony, to be conducted virtually, will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Tune in to ABC on September 20 at 8 p.m. EST to watch the 2020 Emmy Awards.
