Having released their latest single “How You Like That” last month, BLACKPINK has finally announced their first-ever studio album. Judging from the teaser, the upcoming record, titled THE ALBUM, will be released on October 2.

The K-pop group made their debut back in 2016 with a mini album featuring “Boombayah” and “Whistle” and became one of the biggest girl bands worldwide by taking the stage at Coachella last year. Fans have shown excitement for the new announcement, as this is BLACKPINK’s first full album ever since their debut.

Ahead of THE ALBUM, the group has shared that an additional single will arrive next month with a surprise featured guest. “2020 will be a year filled with plans and actions to target the global market. We are also working on a global project with Universal Music Group,” a YG representative commented.

“How You Like That,” which will be leading the upcoming album, reached 86.3 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours. The highly anticipated record is scheduled to arrive on October 2.
