LaQuan Smith Serves '70s-Inspired Looks for SS21
Futuristic outfits accentuated with glossy leather, satin and more.
A New York designer continuing to grow as a name to watch in the global fashion industry, LaQuan Smith has unveiled a digital lookbook for the Spring/Summer 2021 season. Following a chic, muted Fall/Winter 2020 runway, the creative has taken a different direction this time around through a vibrant color palette.
Inspired by ’70s fashion, Smith goes all out this season – glossy fabrics like satin and leather serve as the base of the collection. The lineup starts off with V-neck blouses with puffy sleeves, featuring details like relaxed collars and lacing. The pieces are paired with straight-fitted trousers, while more outfits follow with side-slit dresses, bodysuits and puffer jackets in shades of orange, blue, pink and more.
Highlighting the lookbook is a shiny trench coat arriving in bright magenta, along with form-fitting dresses with asymmetrical cut-out windows at the waist. Bold patterns are also added to the mix, as well as graphic images printed in black and white. Rounding off the SS21 season are more futuristic silhouettes like jumpsuits, along with more versatile options such as blazers and shirts.
