Paris Fashion Week to Proceed With 19 In-Person Shows

Despite an increase in coronavirus cases throughout Europe.

Paris Fashion Week has confirmed 19 physical runway shows for the Spring/Summer 2021 season, despite rising coronavirus cases and impending restrictions across Europe. From September 28 to October 6, the city will see 84 brands host a mix of in-person and digital events. Women’s Wear Daily reports that, in addition to the planned runway shows, 20 physical presentations will take place.

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the fashion industry’s governing body in France, said it is working with authorities to enforce health and safety measures such as limited capacity at events (brands will invite 20 to 25 percent of the guests they hosted in past seasons) and back-up plans for audience-less shows. Those proceeding with physical runway shows include Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Kenzo and Acne Studios. Labels hosting in-person presentations include Olivier Theyskens, Giambattista Valli, Schiaparelli and Kenneth Ize.

Head to the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode website to view the full Paris Fashion Week SS21 schedule.
