Zerina Akers Teams Up With Keeyahri for Luxe Thigh-High Boots and Heels

Celebrity stylist Zerina Akers is tapping into footwear, joining forces with Keeyahri‘s founder and artistic director Keya Martin. The duo has created a capsule collection of shoes including thigh-high boots and square-toe sandals.
For those who aren’t aware, Martin was a recipient of Harlem’s Fashion Row ICON 360, courtesy of A Common Thread, a COVID-19 relief initiative run by CFDA/Vogue. “I decided just to try and shoot my shot, so I reached out,” Martin shared with Vogue on her collaboration with Akers. “I’d been following Zerina for a while, and I knew that she’s fashion-forward, well-respected and for the people.”
“I noticed that [Keya] didn’t have a boot within her collection and thought that creating one would be an interesting conversation,” Akers explained to the publication about the capsule. Available in black and white, the thigh-high boot boasts Keeyahri’s signature metal heel, while the sandals feature a retro-inspired design. “Hedges inspire the square part of the shoe’s heel,” said Martin. “I kept looking at house exteriors in the Vineyard, so that’s where it came from. Zerina wanted to have a comfortable heel, one that’s chunky to support people who don’t want to be running around in stilettos.”
