Sustainable Brand Miaou Taps Into Swimwear for the First Time
The line arrives alongside the label’s ’90s-inspired Summer 2021 collection.
Founded in 2016 by Alexia Elkaim, Miaou is known for its signature jeans embellished with a single detail: the grommet. After gaining attention from the public, the brand decided to expand its offerings to matching sets and corsets.
Now, Miaou has ventured into a new category just in time for the summer season – swimwear. The lookbook stars Zaina Miuccia and Fiffany Luu dressed in the range’s new bikini and one-piece silhouettes. Nostalgic glitter embellishments, cut-out details and prints can be found throughout the revealing designs and full-coverage styles. Standouts include the high cut Demi one-piece, Kauai bottom and Bambi bottom, which you can pair with a cropped mesh tee or hip grazing pant to rock the ’90s G-string trend. As part of Miaou’s sustainability initiative, core materials are made out of deadstock and biodegradable fibers, while the mesh is crafted from 92 percent recycled nylon.
