While runway beauty traditionally focuses on the creation of innovative makeup looks and the next big trend, 111SKIN, a skincare sponsor to many fashion brands during New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022, has become an integral force in prioritizing skincare prep backstage. With late nights and early-morning call times, being a model during Fashion Month is tough work. 111SKIN’s global head aesthetician Milena Naydenov made sure that models at iconic presentations, like the LaQuan Smith show, were “skin-first” ready.

While LaQuan Smith is known for its proclivity for dramatic and intricate catwalk makeup, backstage, it’s clear that the brand also saw the importance of taking care of the models’ skin. After all, it’s the skin underneath that makes the makeup translate the best.

“We cleanse the skin, followed by a layer of 111SKIN Antioxidant Energizing Essence, infused with revitalizing ingredients and powerful antioxidants. The Energizing Essence balances the skin, provides instant hydration and fights the signs of aging.” the brand’s facialist shared.
