Megan Fox Reveals Truth About Being A Sex Symbol

Megan Fox has been dominating headlines, especially since her ritualistic engagement to her twin flame, Machine Gun Kelly. Her alluring presence has always captivated the media, but with several caveats.
Fox recently shared with Glamour that the level of fame she reached mirrored the intensity of a traumatic event. That level of status resulted in a life where her truth was constantly misconstrued. For example, in 2008, she playfully stated that she had the sex drive of a 15-year-old boy and headlines later read that she “really knew how to get young boys going.” That same year she discussed the sad truth about being an openly sexual woman in an FHM interview: ”I really enjoy having sex, and that’s offensive to some people. Women are the quickest to call other women sluts, which I think is sad,” she said.
The release of the movie Jennifer’s Body was the perfect depiction of the media’s relationship with Fox’s sex appeal. The film was supposed to be marketed to young women, but instead, marketers suggested sexist promo rollouts such as Fox hosting an amateur porn website to allure young men.
Having sex appeal is not the issue. In fact, it’s a form of authenticity most women enjoy tapping into. But being an alluring woman who spoke her truth was not something the media was able to digest.
Whether she’s being judged for her blunt personality or referencing BDSM, Fox shared that other feminists have a hard time accepting her. She’s also not oblivious to the fact that her open-minded perspective can trigger others. ”I’ve never felt completely included in the feminist community and I do still think that it’s tricky in an awful way… I think that I was ahead of the MeToo movement by almost a decade,” she told Glamour in the interview.
The combination of being “dehumanized and criticized,” led to Fox’s hiatus from the public. Although she’s re-entered the public eye, she’s done so with new boundaries, such as hiring someone to engage on social media for her. As a result, she can remain private, while still sharing a few moments along the way, like her new love.
