Following a recently revealed Stone Island collection, Supreme reveals its next partnership for Spring 2022. The streetwear brand has collaborated with the archives of famed artist and photographer Roy DeCarava for a selection of tees and hoodies.

Roy’s most famed work captures New York City during the Harlem Renaissance with a focus on portraiture. When asked about his iconic photo Man Coming Up Subway Stairs, DeCarava told The New York Times he aimed to apply “the kind of penetrating insight and understanding of Negroes which…only a Negro photographer [could] interpret.”

This perspective spans across the artist’s work, including two photos selected by Supreme for the project — an iconic photo of Malcolm X and another striking photo of a man looking directly into the camera and a woman gazing out of the frame. The photos land on four tees in black, white, aqua and lime as well as hoodies in black, navy, orange, mint and white.

All profits from the Roy DeCarava x Supreme collection will benefit the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. The collection will drop on May 19 11 a.m. EDT in the United States, and elsewhere around the world, and May 21, 11 a.m. JST in Japan, both in stores and online.
