Disney+ Gives a First Look at the Upcoming 'Lizzie McGuire' Reboot
“Hi, it’s me.”
2020 is finally here, and that means Disney+‘s Lizzie McGuire reboot is set to premiere very soon. After unveiling the return of Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, Jake Thomas and Adam Lamberg to reprise their original roles, the streaming platform has now released a compilation of its upcoming shows and movies for the new year.
The Instagram video includes a short snippet of Hilary Duff in character saying, “Hi, it’s me” as she approaches the window of a car. The caption of the post reads: “Is this not what 2020 vision means? From @ToyStory 4 and Aladdin to #LizzieMcGuire and @MarvelStudios’ #WandaVision, here’s a look into our future at the blockbusters and Originals coming to #DisneyPlus this year.”
According to E! News, the show’s new plot “picks up as Lizzie is just about to turn 30. She seemingly has it all – her dream job as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator, her dream guy and a picturesque Brooklyn apartment – but things aren’t always as they seem. With a little help from her friends, her loving family and her 13-year-old alter-ego in animated form, Lizzie navigates the ups and downs of adulthood.”
