How Much Do K-Pop Fans Spend on Their Stans?
Guess which group has superfans who have spent up to $1,422 USD on average.
As K-pop continues to grow to become a mainstream genre all around the world, a new report reveals how much superfans spend on their stans. According to a study conducted by e-commerce aggregator iPrice Group, some fans have spent $1,422 USD on average on official merch, albums, concerts and more.
The resulting data is based on iPrice’s expansive database of merchants, as well as retail prices of products listed on each group’s official website. The top three fandoms leading the list are BTS‘ ARMY at $1,422 USD, TWICE‘s ONCEs at $824 USD and BLACKPINK‘s BLINKs at $665 USD on average. An ARMY would have gathered at least 15 albums and EPs, in addition to five concert tickets and merch. ONCEs come in second, with spendings roughly on 14 records and four concerts. The report points out that BLINKs have spent a smaller amount of money in comparison to the other music acts, but this is most likely due to the fact that the group is younger and as a result, has had fewer albums and concerts.
