Watch the First Trailer for the Upcoming 'Sailor Moon Eternal' Movie
Slated to release on September 11 in Japan.
Following last year’s announcement, the first trailer of the two-part animated movie Sailor Moon Eternal has finally released. The video kicks off with the iconic opening theme song “Moonlight Densetsu” (“Moonlight Legend”), along with the text: “The famous anime which captivated the world returns to the screen after 25 years with a new dream.”
According to SoraNews24, the film will be “covering the narrative space occupied by the Sailor Moon SuperS episodes of the ’90s anime, which means the arrival of Helios/Pegasus (played by Yoshitsugu Masaoka).” Kotono Mitsuishi, the original voice actress, will reprise her role as Sailor Moon, while the rest of the characters have been recast. Additionally, Kazuko Tadano’s latest designs pay homage to the original manga source material in which the “character artwork features longer limbs and twiggier physiques.”
The first part of Sailor Moon Eternal will hit Japan theaters on September 11. In the meantime, catch up on the anime series by watching the episodes for free on YouTube.
