Sandy Liang to Host Virtual 'Animal Crossing' Pop-Up Shop

New York-based designer Sandy Liang is embracing the quarantine-induced craze for Animal Crossing: New Horizons with a virtual pop-up where attendees can download custom recreations of hit pieces — including signature fleece outerwear — for their villagers to wear.
Co-hosted by Paige Rubin, head luxury buyer at vintage store What Goes Around Comes Around, the “sale” will feature styles from Liang’s Spring/Summer 2020 and Fall/Winter 2020 collections, as well as archival pieces. “If your island has cosmos, please bring them!” Liang requests. The designer also calls on her friends and followers to donate $5 USD to Give Directly, a non-profit currently providing emergency cash to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Attendees will be able to take selected designs from Liang’s island shop and download the rest via a “creator code.” To access the sale, Liang will share a “dodo code” to her Instagram story closer to the launch of the initiative.
