Peep Backstage Moments at Sandy Liang's FW20 Show at New York Fashion Week
Featuring the designer’s recent collaboration with Vans.
Upon revealing a set of matching neon green and pink family sets, designer Sandy Liang returned to her roots by showing her latest Fall/Winter 2020 collection at her high school, Stuyvesant. The New York Fashion Week presentation also featured Liang’s recent footwear and apparel collaboration with Vans.
Accompanied by a string quartet playing classical music in the background, models walked in cozy wardrobe essentials with the color palette including shades like ivory, dark brown and navy. Unlike previous seasons which included playful prints like SpongeBob SquarePants, the creative opted for a toned-down collection with garments including knitted sweatshirts, heavy shearling coats and loose, ruffled dresses.
Anime eye prints were spotted on pieces like a puffer coat, leggings and minidress, while the designer’s pet puppy made an appearance on the runway. Backstage just moments before the show began, we saw Sandy Liang’s collaborative Authentic silhouette adorned with gems, a similar design touch also found on sleeveless tops dressed in dusty pink.
