SOMI Releases New Single "What You Waiting For" After Signing to Interscope Records
Surpassing six million views in less than 24 hours.
As the K-pop industry continues to see a busy season with releases from various artists, Canadian-Dutch-Korean musician SOMI has now dropped her latest single titled, “What You Waiting For.” The new track follows the announcement that the singer-songwriter has signed to Interscope Records as part of a partnership with THEBLACKLABEL.
SOMI debuted as a solo artist back in June last year with her first single “BIRTHDAY,” which has amassed over 78 million views on YouTube to date. After releasing music in South Korea, where she won first place on reality competition show Produce 101, SOMI has joined Interscope Records to deliver more of her creations worldwide. In an interview with Variety, the artist commented,” I’m very excited to join the Interscope and Universal Music family. They have a great roster of artists I love and a long history of breaking acts. I’m looking forward to the next steps in my career and can’t wait to share my music with the world.”
