UPDATE: BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's "Ice Cream" Music Video Is an Absolute Treat

#SELPINK has arrived.

UPDATE (August 28, 2020): BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez‘s highly anticipated “Ice Cream” track is finally here, along with a vibrant, retro-inspired music video. Co-written by Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét, the second single off of the K-pop quartet’s upcoming debut album starts with Gomez, Lisa and Jennie singing: “Come a little closer ’cause you looking thirsty/I’ma make it better, sip it like a Slurpee/Snow cone chilly, get it free like Willy (Oh)/In the jeans like Billie, you be poppin’ like a wheelie/Even in the sun, you know I keep it icy/You could take a lick, but it’s too cold to bite me.”

UPDATE (August 26, 2020): With just two days left until the official release, BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez have revealed the first look at their upcoming track titled “Ice Cream.” As suggested through previous teaser images, the five stars are pictured in vibrant makeup looks and outfits in a pastel-colored set. Presumably shot in their respective cities due to COVID-19 restrictions, Gomez is seen driving an ice cream truck, while the four K-pop members show off their latest glam in the teaser. Previously, BLACKPINK took to Instagram to share their virtual conversation with Gomez ahead of the track release: “I’m so stoked! I’ve been a fan of you guys. This is a big, big dream for me,” the pop star shares, as Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo share their excitement in South Korea.

Stay tuned for the upcoming #SELPINK collaboration, which is slated to drop at 12 a.m. EST on August 28.

UPDATE (August 11, 2020): While K-pop fans have been speculating a potential Ariana Grande partnership, BLACKPINK has finally announced that they will be teaming up with Selena Gomez in their upcoming single. Revealed via social media channels including Instagram, YG Entertainment has shared a new teaser that maintains a consistent comic-like theme with a pink color palette. Meanwhile, Gomez expressed her excitement on the news: “So, so excited to announce BLACKPINK and I have a new song coming out,” the star shared.

Stay tuned for BLACKPINK’s upcoming single with Selena Gomez to drop at 1 p.m. KST (12 a.m. EST) on August 28.

ORIGINAL STORY (August 4, 2020): As announced late last month, BLACKPINK will be releasing a new single ahead of their debut album slated to arrive this October. The upcoming track will feature a surprise artist whose name has yet to be revealed, while Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez seem to be a popular guess among fans.

Unveiled via Instagram, a bold, vintage ’80s style teaser pictures Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo in a comic strip format. A question mark is placed at the center to highlight the mystery figure that has participated in the upcoming track, while fans have been quick to guess the artist with hashtags like #ARIPINK. Various rumors are circulating on the Internet, but YG Entertainment has responded by asking fans to wait for the official reveal. The mystery element of the new song has been receiving much attention, seeing that the K-pop company has previously shared that it is working with Universal Music Group on a global project for the band.

Stay tuned as we learn more about BLACKPINK’s new single, which is slated to drop on August 28.
