Nike Pays Homage to NYC's Bodegas With Two New Air Force 1s
Inspired by reusable shopping bags found in the small convenience stores.
Following its Valentine’s Day-themed Air Force 1, Nike is set to drop to new iterations of the classic silhouette. The upcoming designs pay tribute to New York‘s bodegas, which are small convenience stores located across the city.
Available in “Pink Bag” and “White Bag,” each style is inspired by reusable shopping bags found in bodegas. The former colorway features a soft pink upper, while the latter arrives in an all-white look. Elsewhere, both pairs come with a rose graphic on the lateral’s “AIR” branding. “Pink Bag” boasts a red hue, and “White Bag” sports a red and green color combination. Rounding out the shoe are the Swoosh-equipped smiley faces and the “Have a Nike Day” phrase on the insoles.
Take a closer look above. The Air Force 1 “Pink Bag” and “White Bag” retail for ¥13,200 JPY (approximately $125 USD) each, and will be available via Nike SNKRS Japan on February 24.
