Balenciaga Le Cagole
Spotted on celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Alexa Demie, the Cagole bag is undeniably the most popular handbag this season. The design is one of Balenciaga’s many moto-inspired styles, and is offered in a variety of colorways ranging from black and white, to neon yellow and pink. The piece dons a crescent shape and comes with a mini heart-shaped mirror and a pouch hanging from the handle.
Chanel 22
Virginie Viard debuted the 22 bag on Chanel’s photography-inspired Spring/Summer 2022 runway. Named after the year 2022, the bag references the No. 22 perfume that launched in 1922 as the house’s second fragrance following the iconic No. 5. The sack-like shape comes in small, medium and large options, and is also available in a backpack version for casual looks.
Fendi Fendigraphy
The Fendigraphy bag is one of the must-haves from Fendi’s latest handbag collection. The style, which was spotted in Hypebae’s Spring 2022 digital cover story starring K-pop star CL, boasts a circular shape that is highlighted with large Fendi branding on the bottom. The piece is offered in nano sizes, as well as larger options for practicality.
Givenchy Kenny Bag
Matthew M. Williams took inspiration from his close friend and muse Kendall Jenner for Givenchy’s newest handbag style. The purse is aptly named Kenny, and arrives in a pouch-like silhouette influenced by the ’40s-style draping in the fashion house’s SS22 collection. Givenchy’s 4G lock hardware highlights the look, along with a metallic chain handle.
Gucci Small Jackie 1961
The Jackie 1961, which made its grand return in 2020, continues to be a staple throughout all seasons. The timeless design was most recently given a mini-sized makeover on Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway in a bold red shade.
JW Anderson Bumper
The Bumper is JW Anderson’s latest It-bag with celebrity fans including Dua Lipa. The silhouette, which made its debut in September 2021 in a series of imagery shot by Juergen Teller, is offered in half-moon, baguette and hobo shapes, with bold contrast piping details across the bottom. The bag was recently included in the fashion label’s collaboration with the retro South Korean manga, Run Hany.
Loewe Luna
As suggested by its name, the Luna bag is designed in the shape of a crescent moon. The structured piece is an elevated take on the hobo bag, and comes in a variety of iterations including black, green and gray colorways, as well as jacquard versions featuring Loewe’s signature Anagram pattern throughout.
Loewe Puzzle
For FW22, Loewe revamped its iconic Puzzle silhouette in a range of vibrant colors, from bright orange to sky blue. Instead of its classic leather straps, the handbags are updated with tonal chain straps for a more casual look.
Louis Vuitton Loop
Another crescent-shaped It-bag of the year, Louis Vuitton’s Loop bag made its debut on the fashion house’s Cruise 2022 runway by Nicolas Ghesquière. The half-moon purse is a compact design with the brand’s signature Monogram printed throughout, while the leather shoulder strap is accompanied by a shorter chain strap.
Miu Miu Top Handle Bag
Miu Miu’s Top Handle bags are for practical fashionistas. The style arrives in a simple, sports-inspired shape, with Miu Miu’s logo embossed throughout. The design comes in a wide range of iterations, including larger and small sizing options, as well as Matelassé iterations. For FW22, Miuccia Prada gave the bag a worn leather update, which we’re looking to add to our carts later this year.
Prada Cleo
The Cleo bag made its comeback in Raf Simons’ debut collection for Prada and has become a must-have ever since. The style is both chic and versatile, and can serve as a statement with pops of color in red, green and more.
Prada Femme
Elongated shapes are another trend for handbags this year. The Prada Femme is a rectangular piece that takes inspiration from the ’90s, with the house’s iconic triangle logo taking center stage. The simple bag is complete with a tonal shoulder strap.
Prada Supernova
Prada’s Supernova has been spotted across fashion’s latest editorials, arriving in a structured boxy silhouette. The purse is highlighted with an ombré airbrush effect in shades of green, brown and more. The design is complete with Prada’s triangle logo sitting at the end of the zipper opening.
Valentino One Stud
Valentino debuted an all-pink runway for FW22, accessorizing looks with handbags as small as the micro One Stud bag. The style is offered in a variety of size options, as well as in black and pink.
