KidSuper Casts Passersby in Latest Lookbook
The full collection releases later this week.
For its Spring/Summer 2022 offering, KidSuper takes a nontraditional approach to model casting, plucking people right from the street to show off its forthcoming collection.
Founder Colm Dillane detailed the unique process in an Instagram post writing, “This is the best lookbook ever: we just opened the gate in front of the store and asked people that walked by. It was raining and I didn’t expect it to go so well. Everyone was so fu*king amazing to meet and talk to, what a beautiful experience.”
The images were then presented makeover style, with side-by-side pics of the recruited models in their street clothes versus styled in KidSuper.
As for the collection titled “Do What You Want Before You Die,” in typical KidSuper fashion, the garments are covered in head-turning prints and palettes. From painterly portraits in plum, yellow gold and magenta to the brand’s signature facial feature artwork applied over plaids, the collection is a hit for KidSuper collectors and newbies attracted to a very post-Covid need for exuberance.
