Uniqlo UT Teams Up With Japanese Animator Makoto Shinkai On Graphic Tee Collection

The lineup is inspired by his films including ‘Your Name.’

Uniqlo UT and Japanese animator and director Makoto Shinkai officially announce an upcoming T-shirt collection. The newly designed Spring/Summer 2019 range is directly inspired by Shinkai’s films Tenki no Ko (Weathering with You) and Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name).

The lineup features artwork from the two aforementioned films and includes sky motifs of daytime and evening which are recurring themes throughout Shinkai’s directorial career. Additionally, the designs focus on Japanese tradition. Staples in the collection include a light blue tee that includes sea-inspired imagery and a black tee arriving with a miniature cat in white.

You can purchase the Uniqlo UT collection on Monday, July 22 at Uniqlo’s official website. Take a look at the range in the gallery above.
