Everything Hypebae Editors Wore During Fashion Week FW23
From grandma’s vintage handbags to Depop finds.
The fashion world is in high gear as we’re in the midst of fashion week season, with Milan well underway and London and New York already behind us.
While we’re busy eyeing the designs on the runway, rest assured the garments on our back got equal consideration. Although Hypebae’s editors are spread across the globe, we were unanimous in throwing out a dress code. Chaos core is 2023’s prevailing theme as trends are out and authenticity is in. The pressure is on, of course, to be captured by a street style photographer and have your 15 minutes of fame, but while we’re experimenting with our style, we’re also dressing for comfort as we’re running from show to show, crouched over our laptops and phones in between.

Collette Grimes, Associate Editor
Collette starts us off at The Standard, East Village, which our New York team used as a hub for the busy week. Proving that recession core can be chic, our Associate Editor pulled from her already full collection for her go-to New York Fashion Week fit. Feeling inspired by the Valentine’s Day spirit, she opted for a pink tulle Eliza Faulkner dress, String Ting‘s Bear-y Sweet Pastel Choker and Urban Sophistication Heart Dough Case. She offset her ensemble with 9-year-old Dr. Martens 1460 boots and doublesoul x Beepy Bella‘s Sweetheart socks.
Raissa Garcia, Social Media Manager
Raissa kept it cool with a monochromatic beige look, comprised of a form-fitting Geel turtleneck and weather-appropriate midi leather skirt. Her By Far By Far Stevie 99 boots gave the otherwise demure look instant sex appeal, while her Mudd Pearl necklace kept it classy. Raissa later changed into some ultra-comfy Moon Boots for a coffee break.
Navi Ahluwalia, Editor
All the way across the pond, our UK editor Navi dived into the opposite end of the spectrum, rocking an all-black outfit. Her Feng Chen Wang blazer is truly a work of art, littered with initial charms for extra flair. She paired the statement-making piece with a silver necklace from the London-based brand and black trousers from COS. Navi is ever the style savant and scored her accessories from Depop, topping off her look with a MISBHV bag and adidas x Raf Simons Ozweego sneakers.
Sofia de la Cruz, Editorial and Strategy Intern
Our intern Sofia may have won the vintage lottery as her grandmother supplied her with a Loewe handbag for fashion week. We’re jealous too. Her masterfully perforated Savvas Alexander jacket is layered over a Vivienne Westwood dress and accented with Ganni boots and red tights for a pop of color.
Cait Monahan, Managing Editor
Cait is leading us into the future with an electrifying fit. Showing us how it’s done, she dons an acidic green and expertly tailored Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY set, adding structure with an Area jacket, outfitted with stage worthy-tassels. Accented with an itty-bitty Fendi baguette and a 3.1 Phillip Lim tote, her look effortlessly evokes cool girl energy. It’s giving cyber core and we’re here for it.
