K-Pop Group Balming Tiger Takes the Streets of Hong Kong in "SOS" Music Video
Pre-released ahead of the 11-member act’s first full album slated for this coming summer.
Balming Tiger, the alternative K-pop group disrupting the South Korean music scene, has returned with a new single titled “SOS.”
“SOS” marks the third pre-release track from the 11-member collective’s first studio album due to drop this summer, arriving months after the group’s collaborative single “SEXY NUKIM” with RM of BTS, as well as “Trust Yourself.” This time around, all members of the K-pop act, including singers and rappers Omega Sapien, sogumm, Mudd the student and bj wnjn, and producers, have participated on the track.
Described as a “love song embroidered with a strong longing for someone on a psychedelic sound reminiscent of a red light,” “SOS” delivers a catchy chorus resembling Morse code, in reference to the song’s title. Speaking on the music video shot in the streets of Hong Kong, the group’s founder and creative director San Yawn told Hypebae, “It took us a while to start making the music video since we made this song. We thought a lot about how to show our color and unique visuals at the same time.” He continued, “Some keywords and ideas came to mind, but we couldn’t find the right theme. Just in time, Clockenflap Festival was held in Hong Kong, and we thought that the color and mood of the city and the elements of this song matched well.”
