Louis Vuitton Re-Purposes American Workshops for Face Mask Production

Following the brand’s initiative in France.

Joining its ateliers in France, Louis Vuitton workshops in the U.S. will begin producing face masks for healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

Brand artisans at workshops in New Jersey, Texas and California will manufacture non-medical cloth face masks that users can wash and re-use. Louis Vuitton has not specified the volume of masks it plans to produce, but assured in a press release that all workers will adhere to strict health and social distancing guidelines during production hours.

Ultimately, the face masks will be distributed among states most impacted by the spread of COVID-19. “Louis Vuitton will partner with local organizations in state leading the COVID-19 response effort,” a statement from the brand reads.
