UNIQLO and Fast Retailing to Donate 10 Million Medical Masks

For healthcare workers in the U.S., Italy and Japan.

In response to the growing number of novel coronavirus cases in the U.S., UNIQLO‘s parent company, Fast Retailing, has enlisted its Chinese manufacturers to produce 10 million medical masks to be donated to high-priority hospitals. Though donations will be focused in the U.S., masks will also reach medical workers in Italy and Japan.

UNIQLO USA will supply 1.05 million masks to the New York State Government in response to the area’s rapidly evolving health crisis. As of March 27, New York City alone counted 23,000 cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, UNIQLO’s businesses in China and South Korea will continue to donate HEATTECH, AIRism and down jackets to healthcare workers in Asia.

In related news, Gucci has donated approximately $2.2 million USD to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
