UPDATE (February 21, 2023): BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is gearing up for the release of her solo single, which was finally confirmed earlier this year.

YG Entertainment shared with the press that the K-pop star has begun shooting for the music video, which will accompany her anticipated release. “The music video for Jisoo’s solo song is being filmed in an overseas location in strict secrecy. You can look forward to it as we invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos,” the company stated.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the launch of Jisoo’s solo debut.

ORIGINAL STORY (January 2, 2023): Following in the footsteps of her bandmates Jennie, Lisa and Rosé, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is finally making her solo debut.

The K-pop artist’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed the news in a statement, “BLACKPINK Jisoo is currently working hard on recording her solo album. She has completed shooting the album cover and has been putting a lot of work into her music, as promised to her fans. She will soon come to BLINKs with good news.”

Not much is known of the release as of writing. However, Jennie was the first in the quartet to release a track as a solo artist with “SOLO,” and also has an unreleased single that she’s been performing throughout BLACKPINK’s world tour. Meanwhile, Rosé released her solo project R in March 2021 and Lisa dropped her album LALISA later that year. It was known that Jisoo’s solo debut was pushed back as she was focusing on her acting career with the K-drama series Snowdrop.

Stay tuned as we learn more about Jisoo’s solo album.

In case you missed it, G-Dragon made a surprise announcement, revealing plans for a new album this year.
