London Pride Postponed Due to Coronavirus
Event organizers will announce a new date in “due course.”
London Pride, previously set to take place on June 27 during Pride Month, has been postponed amid the global novel coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s been a tough decision to postpone the Pride in London Parade and events, but the health and safety of our communities is our top priority. With the climate changing daily, we need to think even further ahead and make timely decisions to protect the health and wellbeing of our communities, volunteers and participants,” London Pride Co-Chairs Alison Camps and Michael Salter-Church write in an official statement. The pair have been in talks with Greater London Authority as well as the Westminster City Council, the Metropolitan Police Service, Transport for London and London Fire Brigade to “look at the possibility of another date.”
Besides the event’s annual parade, the Pride Festival, Pride’s Got Talent, Pride in the City, Pride Boxing, the Pride 10K and all other public Pride-related events are all postponed until further notice.
